The book "NEW 2007 Diabetes Solution... The Complete Guide to Achieving Normal Blood Sugars by Dr. Bernsteinis refered to many as the "diabetic bible". Many claim that it works and has saved their lives Dr. Berstein claims to be the only diabetic still alive from the 1940's. Read his life story here: http://www.diabetes-book.com/book/mylife.shtml Dr. B. is responsible for blood sugar meter being available to diabetics. He did not invent it. Initially, the meter was developed to be used in the ER to determine if a patient was drunk or in a diabetic comma. At the time only Drs could buy the machine. Manufacters did not sell it to patients because the American Diabetic Association (ADA) didn't approve of it being sold to patients. Since the doctors wouldn't make any money. Back then diabetics would go once a month trip to their doctor to get a reading. Also the AMA claimed that patients wouldn't buy the test strips to use in testing. In other countries doctors disagreed with the AMA. Eventually years later the AMA agreed and meters were sold to patients. Tired of fighting the AMA, Berstein went became a Doctor at the age of 45. ------------------ Dr B's web site: http://www.diabetes-book.com Before & After: 14 Patients Share Their Experiences: http://www.diabetes-book.com/book/beforeafter.shtml |
